Golden Oven remains the favourite patisserie and takeaway outlet for foreigners and others from the North Goa coastal belt. Located next to the prominent Sirsat Building near the busy bus stand in Mapusa, this bakery whips up products that go down well with the visitors. They serve excellent and nutritious mini pizzas, rolls with all kinds of fillings, sandwiches and burgers, besides sweet somethings like Black forest Cake and Apple Crumble. A sister concern of the popular St Francis Xavier restaurant in the busy Mapusa market area, they also serve Goan favourites like the Beef Chop, which is delicately spiced beef minced inside a fried potato ball, Beef Patty, slightly spiced beef mince inside a baked patty and all kinds of Goan sweets including Bebinca and Rice Cake. They remain closed on Sundays.
