Furtado’s Shack is something of an institution with the Goan crowd on the scenic Sernabatim beach, a little south of Colva. Many go there to celebrate birthdays or catch up with scattered family and there is an easy bonhomie about the place. The Goan-style seafood is outstanding here, as are their Pork Roast and Beef Roast, which are served with potatoes and salad. Located right on the beachfront, there’s a covered verandah-style area and a completely open area where you can sit and enjoy the breeze. Although everybody goes there for the Goan cuisine, they’ve also kept some North Indian, Chinese and European dishes on their menu. We recommend the Beef Steak, Fish Masala Fry and Pomfret Recheado.
