Simonia has been consistent for Goan quality sweets starting from a small place in Saipem from 1963. Today , Assis Cdardozo is carrying out the family dream by opening Simonia’s café in Porvorim. The display has a variety of cakes and biscuits but you can shop from their shop in Mapusa. Bebinca , Dodol,, Doce de Grao, Cocado, Pinagre, Bol, Doce Baji, Batica, Bolognas – old traditional sweets which perhaps are not found in easteries around the place can be got or ordered from here. Besides this there is an assortment of cakes too like the Black Plum Cake, Date and Walnut Cake, biscuits and cookies like the one that used to be available in the glass jars of the tea shop way back in the 70's. There is seating for you to nibble on their patties, or perhaps order from their sandwich, pizza or burger section. Sip on their chilled fruit juices and milk shakes. Over the years they have perfected the art of making cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries etc. This is one place that is traditionally yours.
