VJ Nikhil Chinapa, will be hosting an invigorating Beach Festival for the event lovers. Goa is getting a brand new boutique music festival this year called ‘WonderWall’.

Beach Festival

Goa has been a host to events like Sunburn and Supersonic for a number of years. This year it was a bit disappointing for some party lovers and Sunburn fans since the event was shifted out of Goa. There is still some hope for them to rejoice again and dance to house music and techno on the sands of Goa.

WonderWall Beach Festival

Wonderwall will be held at the Sunset Ashram in Ashwem Beach between 28 December and 30 December, from 2 pm – 10 pm. These dates were usually reserved for Supersonic, which will take place in February 2017. The venue is spectacular and promises to be the perfect setting for the music.

The Beach Festival features some of the best names in house music including Roger Sanchez, Funkagenda, Norman Doray and Kid Creme. Also joining are some Anjunadeep favourites – Cubicolor – and an exclusive B2B set from Jody Wisternoff and Yotto. These artists will be supported by Aneesh Gera, Nawed Khan, Rohit Barker apart from others.

The event has been conceptualised by Chinapa, Goa-based entrepreneur Shailesh Shetty and Oum Pradutt, founder of Bangalore-headquartered event company Phase one Experiences.

Wonderwall is being tagged as a limited-capacity, ’boutique’ festival, which will be dedicated to house music. The audience limitation is being placed at 1,200 people. “The venue is perfect for an organic, earthy vibe, that we want for Wonderwall. This year, we will have just the right kind of crowd that values Goa for what it is”, Chinapa said.

A tourism official said that they had not received any application from the organisers of the festival, for permissions. Whether permission for this event will have to be sought from the state-level committee on mega events, is not clear.

This festival will forgo larger-than-life LED screens for hand-painted signs, easy furniture and hammocks surrounded by beautiful coconut trees. UK house label, Defected Records will put up a special Defected in the House showcase featuring their roster. It includes Grammy-winning house music producer Roger Sanchez, Brussels-based house music producer Kid Crème alongside British producer Funkagenda and India’s Aneesh Gera and Nawed Khan.
