Compared to other states, Goa has still to pick up where telecommunications (internet /wifi) facilities are concerned. Keeping this in mind, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. ( BSNL GOA ) is now making its presence felt in the Goan market by improving and increasing its services.
BSNL Goa proposes to install 29 new generation network telephone exchanges and 85 new cellphone towers across the state in view of the upcoming BRICS summit to be held in Goa in a couple of months. Rajya Sabha MP, Shantaram Naik said BSNL Goa is working on a war-footing to install new towers in the state. He also stated that Goa should have an independent telecom circle and no state should have a merger with another on the grounds of administrative necessity.
He also called for authorities to have an independent call center in Goa providing information in the local language Konkani, as well as Hindi and English.
This should bring a whole lot of relief to BSNL customers in the state.
