A culinary journey celebrating the warmth and flavours of Kolkata

C2C is delighted to present “Howrah 2 The Coast”, an exclusive Bengali culinary showcase in collaboration with the iconic Sonargaon from Taj Bengal, Kolkata. This festival brings to the shores of Goa the soul-stirring flavours and aromas of Bengal, curated by the celebrated Chef Swapan Giri.
The event begins on 10ᵗʰ October with dinner, followed by lunch and dinner from 11ᵗʰ to 14ᵗʰ October at C2C, Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon — promising a delectable journey that bridges the taste of the East with the spirit of the coast.
Chef Swapan Giri, a stalwart of Taj Bengal for over 35 years, has helmed Sonargaon — the city’s legendary Indian restaurant — for the past 15 years. His expertise and deep-rooted understanding of Bengali cuisine have earned him national and international recognition. Over the years, Chef Giri has led numerous Bengali food festivals across India and abroad, delighting guests with his authentic and heartfelt culinary creations.
The specially curated menu for “Howrah 2 The Coast” brings together Bengal’s most beloved flavours with C2C’s coastal flair. Guests can indulge in signature favourites such as Chingri Malai Curry, Bhetki Maacher Paturi, Kosha Mangsho, and Dhokar Dalna, each prepared with Chef Swapan Giri’s hallmark authenticity and finesse. Complementing these are a variety of traditional vegetarian delicacies like Jhinge Aloo Posto, Potoler Dolma, and Narkel diye Chholar Dal, along with street- inspired starters such as Kasundi Bhetki Fry, Mochar Chop, and Chingri Macher Cutlet.
The culinary journey concludes on a sweet note with classic Bengali desserts — Rosogolla, Misti Doi, Gobindobhog Gurer Payesh, and Chum Chum — each echoing the rich heritage and nostalgia of
Kolkata.
