The department of English in association with the Books and Beyond Literary Committee organised Cosplay Day 2025 at Don Bosco College Panjim, in the play area. Participants dressed as their favourite characters and delivered monologues, and acted out scenes to bring their characters to life. The event was divided into two categories: Individual Cosplay and Team Cosplay.
Participants were assessed based on their performance, dialogue delivery, and overall portrayal of their chosen characters. Judges for the event were assistant professors Arantxa Rangel and Leisha Sequeira.
Winners of the team Cosplay were Mario Pimenta, Sharvi Dhond, Poonam Bind, and Ebenezer Rajamanickam of TYBAMC while the runners-up were Charles D’Souza, Joshua Vaz, Janice Fernandes, Mekisha Noronha and Veloshka Pereira of FYBCom.
In the individual category, the winner for Best Male Cosplay was presented to Charles D’souza of FYBCOM who was dressed as ‘Woody’ from Toy Story. Best Female Cosplay was awarded to Davina Paradesi of FYBA who embodied the character ‘Wednesday Addams’.
A quick round of questions based on movie and music trivia were asked and spot prizes were won by Mevish Ali who was dressed as ‘Draco Malfoy’, Roshni of SYBAMC, and Veloshka Pereira.
As a token of appreciation, the judges were presented with a gift by assistant professors Alisha Nicole Carvalho and Nasween Beig from the Department of English.
The event was hosted by Ishrat Sartur of FYBA, who cosplayed as Little Red Riding Hood. She concluded the event by announcing the winners and delivering the vote of thanks.
The audience enjoyed the event, cheering for the participants and singing songs while scores were being tallied.
The event was a huge success, with students displaying their passion, talent and dedication. The event provided a platform for creativity and storytelling, making it an entertaining and memorable experience for both participants and the audience.
