
The Department of Computer Applications at Don Bosco College Panjim hosted a session on
“Career in Drone Technology” for BCA students on 8th September 2025. The session was
organised in collaboration with the Tech Savvy Hub, the Training Internship & Placement
Committee, and JCI Panjim. The session aimed to explore the rapidly growing field of drone technology. Guest speaker Mr Sudesh Salgaonkar discussed the rise of IT during the COVID-19 pandemic and highlighted key areas of IT growth, such as software development and digital media. He emphasized the expanding use of drones across industries like agriculture, logistics, and disaster management. Mr Salgaonkar also spoke about career opportunities in drone technology, including roles like drone pilots, technicians, and data analysts. He explained the requirements for obtaining a Remote Pilot Certification from the DGCA. The session ended with a vote of thanks by the course coordinator, Assistant Professor Rohan R Kerkar.
