Diabetic Retinopathy Centre by Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera inagurated at New Hospicio Hospital, Margao

The “Diabetic Retinopathy Centre” by the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera and CSR partner M/s Jollyboard Ltd, Mumbai was successfully inaugurated on 29th July, 2023, at 4:00pm at the Hospicio, South Goa District Hospital, Margao, in the esteemed presence of Mrs. Rashmi & Mr. Arvind Jolly, who graciously inaugurated the centre, along with Rtn. Denzil Xavier, President of Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera, Dr Rupa Naik, Dy. Director, Directorate of Health Services, Panaji, and Dr Deepak Dhond, Medical Superintendent, Hospicio South Goa District Hospital, Margao .

Mr. Denzil Xavier, President of the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera, in his address, extended his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the club to Mr. & Mrs. Jolly for their incredible generosity as donors of the medical equipment costing over Rupees 35 Lakhs, without whom this project wouldn’t have been possible. “Their support will undoubtedly create a positive impact on the lives of countless Goans facing diabetic retinopathy. We also express our sincerest appreciation to the Directorate of Health Services and Hospicio South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for their collaboration and support, which has been instrumental in making this initiative a reality”, he opined.

Mr. Arvind Jolly thanked all the members of the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera for their unwavering contributions and dedication to this project. “We are committed to making a significant difference in the lives of those in need, and this centre will undoubtedly serve as a beacon of hope for those suffering from diabetic retinopathy in the state of Goa”. “With this new centre in operation, we look forward to providing comprehensive eye care and contributing to the well-being of our fellow Goans”, said Dr Rupa Naik.The inauguration was followed by a presentation on Diabetic Retinopathy by the team of doctors led by Sr. Ophthalmic Surgeon, Dr Shekhar Akarkar.
