
The Goan documentary Bhaangar: Kalakusar Karigiri has been officially selected for Jackson Doc Fest 2025, to be held on October 18, 2025, at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, USA.
Formerly known as Lane Doc Fest, the Jackson Doc Fest is among the world’s leading documentary film festivals, dedicated to highlighting independent films that promote social awareness, cultural identity, democracy, peace, and freedom. Both winners and contenders will be listed on IMDb, providing global recognition to participating filmmakers.
Directed, shot, and narrated by Prachi Shirodkar, and edited by Mario Pimenta, Bhaangar: Kalakusar Karigiri captures the intricate craftsmanship and heritage of Goa’s traditional goldsmiths. The film was produced under the guidance of Agnelo D’Souza at Don Bosco College, Panjim.
The documentary features skilled Goan artisans Rashila Shirodkar, Virendra Rivankar, and Pranay Shirodkar, offering viewers an authentic glimpse into their artistry and legacy.
