Deputy Speaker of the Goa legislative assembly Vishnu Wagh has been hospitalized at the Goa Medical College and Hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest on Sunday evening. He was attending an Independence day program in Kala academy at the time of the incident.
“Wagh is admitted since last night in the hospital due to a cardiac problem. A team of doctors is attending on him. He is under observation right now,” Dr Sunanda Amonkar, Medical Superintendent, GMCH told reporters (Quoted by PTI).
Second in recent months
This the second time Vishnu Wagh has suffered a cardiac arrest in the recent months. On May 15 Wagh had complained of chest pain while attending a public function organised to celebrate the birthday of BJP functionary Anil Hoble. He had undergone angioplasty following it. According a news report, this was the third heart attack the Dy Speaker has suffered.
