Father-Son Duos to Clash In Finals of Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2025 Masters’ Event

It’s going to be a final face-off for honours between two father-son pairs in the men’s doubles 120+ event in the Masters category at the ongoing Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2025. 

In one semifinal of the ongoing tournament, organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group in collaboration with the Goa State Tennis Association, father Sushil Gujarathi and son Yati Gujarathi easily defeated Bharat Patil and Khalil Ansari 6-0, 6-1. In the event’s other semifinal match, the other father-son duo, Shrikant and Amit Tambe, also had a relatively easy outing against Dilip Londhe and Shirish Nandurdikar, defeating the latter 6-3, 6-1. 

In the men’s doubles 110 category, Yati and Shirish Gujarathi  first defeated Anil Baukhandi/Anand Bhandari 6-0 in the quarterfinals before reaching the final in the category, defeating Manoj Chandiramani/Armugam M 6-4, 6-4 in the semis. In the final match in the Masters category, they will face Ashutosh Pednekar and Rajesh D’Souza, who defeated Sunil Maskara and Veeresh Kelgeri 6-2 in the quarterfinal, before reaching the final by subsequently defeating Vijay Kamat/Sunil Mishra 6-3, 6-1 in the semifinal. 

In the 90+ men’s doubles semifinal in the Masters category, Mano Chhabra and Bulu defeated Som SK and Arun Kataria 6-1, 6-4 and will have to overcome a challenge in the final hurdle from Mandar Wakankar and Rajesh Dave, who defeated Vikas Chaudhary and Anant Gupta 6-3,  6-1 in another semifinal. 

Ramesh RN booked a position in the final of the Masters men’s singles 55+ winning the semifinal against Caetano Fernandes 6-4, 6-1, where he will face Jude Cardozo, who overcame a challenge from Alok Mishra 7-5, 6-1 in another semifinal. 

The two semifinals in the mixed doubles 35+ event in the Masters category witnessed a contest between Tanya Caldeira/Arup A and Raisa Mergulhao/Lyndon Pinto 6-4, 6-1 and Milica Rakovic/Mladen Petrovic versus Anjali/Santosh Gorawar 7-6, 6-3, clearing the path for a summit clash between the winners. 

Randeep Datta claimed a slot in the final of the men’s singles 60+ even in the Masters category with a victory over Rafik Khotu 6-3, 7-6. 

The ongoing Gadre Gaspair Dias 2025 has drawn a record-breaking 533 entries. The tournament began with Masters matches on January 23, while the Open category kicks off on January 27, running until February 2.
