A ferry boat called ‘Miramar’ is being modified into a cruise ship by the River Navigation Department. This ferry-cruise boat will have a round canopy to offer the customers ample shade and a big deck floor above to make merry.
The ferry-cruise boat will have music, refreshments and a comfortable seating area. The pleasure craft has combining features of a regular ferry boat and a cruise ship, having a capacity of carrying 30 people. It will be available for the citizens and tourists to enjoy.
According to a Senior Superintendent of the River Navigation Department, “People are showing interest in the pleasure craft even before it is introduced. They want to hire it on hourly basis for private events.”
The tentative route planned for the cruise is from the Panjim Jetty to Old Goa.
A cruise on the River Mandovi is always a pleasure for locals and tourists alike as one gets a sea view of the beautiful Goan coastline dotted with coconut palms, its beautiful beaches and old goan houses.
