Goa Police Officers Undergo Comprehensive Check-Up for Health Ailments

The recently held no-cost health camp organised by Healthway Hospitals and the Vianaar Group for Goa Police officers was well attended by around 80 officers.

Around 80 officers from the Goa Police, including men and women from the Crime and Cybercrime departments, participated in a comprehensive, no-cost health check-up camp organised by Healthway Hospitals in collaboration with the Vianaar Group.

The health camp, offering vital medical services tailored to the specific needs of the law enforcement community, was held recently at Healthway Hospitals in Old Goa and inaugurated by Omvir Singh (IPS), Inspector General of Police, Goa.

Commending the initiative, Singh said, “It’s essential that our police personnel have access to the support they need to stay healthy and fulfil their responsibilities effectively.”

“We are glad to serve the police who work day and night for our safety,” stated Dr Antonio De Bossuet Afonso, chairman of GDAPL, the parent company of Healthway Hospitals, Old Goa, after the well-attended camp concluded.

The camp provided screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, ECG and BMI, alongside consultations with specialists, including general physicians, cardiologists, gynaecologists, dietitians, and physiotherapists. Ultrasound abdominal exams were also offered to all the officers.

Rahul Gupta (IPS), Superintendent of Police in charge of the Crime and Cybercrime Department, highlighted the camp’s impact on officer health: “This initiative is invaluable, providing our personnel with vital screenings and consultations to help them maintain the fitness needed to protect and serve the public,” he remarked.

Among the dignitaries present were Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Halankar; Dr Antonio De Bossuet Afonso, Chairman GDAPL and Head of Surgery, Healthway Hospitals; Dr Sandesh Chodankar, medical superintendent; and advocate Savio Monteiro, Director General Legal Counsel, Vianaar Group.
