Today a person named Abdul Kadar was shot dead point blank in a bar at Ravanfond in Margao. This is the official entry of mafia and it’s hitmen in the Goan scene.
According to me, the first victim of mafia in Goa was Father Bismarque, who was roaming from place to place with his guitar, awakening people against the rape of land, nature and environment. I have strong reasons to believe that Balaji constructions, a Mumbai based developer and the local sand mafia of St. Estevam eliminated him.
As the price of land and construction is on upsurge, greedy Goans are on a selling spree and almost every person with hot pockets wants to buy a bunglow in Goa, the market dynamics and economics have gone for a toss. In such a situation, the mafia will continue to eliminate each and every individual who will go against it for whatever reasons, and the trend will continue till speculative buying and land prices don’t fall down.
Gangs will murder rival gang members, hitmen will assassinate social activists, policemen will encounter mafia men, they in return will eliminate policemen, extortionists will shoot down builders and in this melee, a paradise on earth called Goa will be laid to rest, if it already not has been.
