Rohan Saxena is one of the six students from India to have been selected by Google for a three-day visit to the headquarters of Youtube. On November 3, the students are expected to meet Susan Wojcicki, Chief Executive Officer of Youtube and get an insight into the workings of one of the most popular video sharing platforms.
Saxena wants to know about the daily functioning of the company. “I want to know what a typical day is for her as the CEO of YouTube, the problems she faces and how she solves them,” Saxena was quoted by ToI. He is a computer science undergraduate at BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) and has also expressed his interest in understanding how Youtube uses AI.
Under the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship, Saxena will receive a scholarship of $750 from Google. He can also submit a proposal to promote computer science in the local community and receive up to $225 in funding.
“I received a call when I was in college informing me that I had been selected and I was pretty excited. Since then there are so many thoughts running through my mind, it is exhilarating,” Saxena told ToI.
Through the retreat, Google intends to give students an exposure to enhance their vision and career prospects in computer science.
