“Mr. Nelson, Sir Thangachan, Miss or simply ‘Cher! as we fondly call them : teachers are the backbone of a child’s formative years at school.
Today is the day we celebrate a special kind of people. Rare and so genuine, they are known to impart knowledge essential for every citizen to make their mark in the world. They have the ability to influence a student’s future. Yes, they are none other than our Teachers.
5th of September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day all over the India on a yearly basis. It is a privilege for all citizens across the country to observe this day and pay respect to the ones responsible for shaping their futures. The school is known as a second home and the teachers act like the foundation stones. Playing a pivotal role in building the characters of students and shaping them to become the ‘ideal citizens’ of the country.
We can never forget nor ignore them. While our parents are responsible for giving us love and quality care, our teachers are responsible for making our future bright and successful. Caring for each student as their own and catering to their every need. Patient and understanding to the slow learners, students with dyslexia and others. With no favourites, they support the entire class as a single unit. They let us know the importance of education in our life through their continuous and unfailing efforts.
India celebrates this monumental event on the 5th of September as it is the birth anniversary of the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a great scholar and teacher. Dr. Radhakrishnan went on to become the Vice President of the Indian Republic and later The President of India. Our Teachers are a source of inspiration to us which help us to go ahead and succeed. They motivate us to study by giving examples of great personalities all over the world. Not only do they make us so strong but also prepare us to withstand any obstacle that life throws at us. Imparting immense knowledge and wisdom which is key to nourishing our lives.
A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart. Wishing Teachers all over India a very happy Teachers Day.
