Kegdole Beach is among one of those beautiful and less crowded beaches in Goa. It is well known for its wonderful environment and curvy stretch, which is near the village Verem. This beach is located around 10 km away from the city centre of Panjim.

Kegdole Beach is popular for its highly beautiful surroundings and strategic location at the base of the hillock close to the mouth of the Mandovi River. On top of the hillock, the Indian Navy has a Naval Academy. Among the more exploratory kinds, the Kegdole Beach in Goa is known for its enchanting views of the ocean and sunset on one side and the Reis Magos Fort on the other side. Like the other commercial Goa beaches, Kegdole Beach is not overcrowded so tourists spend some time on the seashore in solitude and enjoy the natural beauty scattered there. Comparatively less commercialised and a serene beach, the Kegdole Beach is one of the less frequented beaches of Goa.

The beach is located at the base of a hillock in the village of Verem. Towering just above the beach is the Reis Magos fort. Also located close by is the Verem Lighthouse and the INS Mandovi Jetty of the Indian Navy. To the left of the beach, one can find a lot of rocks sticking out of the river. The area from the lighthouse to the beach is considered a good fishing spot. The Kegdole beach offers a good view of the Mandovi Bridge and the Mandovi River itself. Kegdole beach in North Goa is a curvy stretch of sand lined with dense foliage. You should also be careful of the many water sports activities that go on during the peak tourist season. But just enjoy a boat ride or water scooter up the Mandovi River.

It is not frequently visited by people but still, it does not remain neat and clean. Cleanliness is a problem here, which seemed to have been ignored. A very few locals can be spotted fishing and relaxing in the rocky areas. There are many water sports available nearby which offers boating, water scooter etc. It is advised to be very careful while going swimming in the sea, as there are many rocks present inside, and the surface is steep under the water and hence, one can slip into deep water, very easily. People are often spotted here playing in the water, relaxing and soaking in the sun. It is advised to avoid roaming barefoot on this beach, as there are rocks present beneath the sand. One can buy handicrafts, hippie-styled jewellery etc. From the nearby local shops. There are a few shacks were sea-food and local cuisines are available for the visitors. Sun beds and body massage facilities are also available at an affordable price, on this beach. Unlike all the other beaches, Kegdole beach witnesses one of the most beautiful sunsets in Goa. People often spend 3-4 hours here. It is recommended to visit this beach during the sunset that is from 6:00 P. M to 8:00 PM, in order to capture a magnificent view. The beach remains moderately crowded during holiday season (from May to July). However, the best time of the year to visit this beach is from October to March.

How to Reach Kegdole Beach Goa
Kegdole Beach is located at a distance of 35 km from Vasco Da Gama Railway Station and 17 km from Mapusa and 9 km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand. Kegdole beach can be reached from Mapusa and Panaji by bus.
