Konkani films Nachom-ia Kumpasar and Home Sweet Home won six prizes each at the Goa State Film Festival Awards, held at Dinanath Mangeshkar Auditorium on Sunday. The turnout for the function was really good as the hall was filled to capacity. The award ceremony was attended by Nana Patekar and other greats of Marathi and Konkani cinema.
The four member jury was chaired by internationally acclaimed actor-director Bijaya Jena. ‘Enemy’ was awarded for best story, ‘Home Sweet Home’ declared runners-up in the best Konkani film category, won the best lyrics, best screenplay and three more awards.
John D’silva was awarded best actor for his role in Home Sweet Home, while Anagha Joshi was named the best actress for ‘Nirmon’. ‘Gurupurnima’ was declared the best Marathi film. Noted Director, Writer and Producer N. Chandra was conferred the lifetime achievement award for his contribution to cinema.
