The name spells excitement, the classy air conditioned restaurant is perched on the top floor of the busy calangute road but once in –its bliss. Yes one might call it a multi cuisine restaurant but whispers of preparations unique from the Nawabi and Bahami regions spell an experience for families which would make it an evening to remember . So this time it was Indian. The colorful prints on the wall reflect the coastal theme. The place reflects a simple, cool ambience for families and friends to get together. Vegetarians rejoice! The colourful menu starts with a host of preparations for you to choose from. Take the starter Pakhtooni Aloo before being fired in the tandoor. You will never go wrong with this. Another favorite is the corn Potato Seekh – the name says it all.Great flavour …one can focus on the vegetarians only but the chef sure has a few unique non-vegetarian preparations too. The Nilgiri Prawns are tasty but could do with less masking. The mains…Go for the Panwadi ka Murgh.
From the kitchens of the Bengali Zamindars the rich cashew cream sauce has bits of betel leaves shredded into the curry. The Paneer Da Pardah has a thin film of flour coverings the serving. Now like the preparations which are worth trying. The cheese/chili and onion/ spinach Naan –three flavours in one Naan and colourful too…every bite is a different flavour, the Kabuli Naan with its sprinkling of dry fruit or the Missi Roti. The Nawabi Biryani is another recommendation. For the not so adventurous old favourites abound…the Dal makhani, Rogan josh et al. The paneer (many preparations on the menu)is soft…perhaps one of the softest one has had in a long while. Desserts-the Death by chocolate has crisps, nuts and oodles of chocolate or perhaps the Gulab Jamun? After a long while calangute has got a stand alone restaurant for families to enjoy a value for money meal.
