With the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and the increasing reliance on it, the revolutionary technology needs to be approached with pragmatism and should be viewed as a collaborator rather than a competitor, according to Dr Dinesh Chandrasekhar, chief strategy officer at Centific AI, a Hyderabad-based global digital and technology company that focuses on AI, data and intelligent digital platforms.

“Make AI your companion, not your competition,” Chandrashekar said at Samriddhi 2024, an annual international business symposium hosted by the Sanquelim-based Goa Institute of Management (GIM), emphasising the potential of AI to enhance productivity when paired with human ingenuity.

The event saw the participation of over 3,000 participants from leading business schools across India. The symposium featured seven competitions, offering a prize pool of Rs. 4.6 lakhs and hosted a case study competition for undergraduates.

Commenting on the success of the symposium, Dr. Ajit Parulekar, Director at GIM, stated, “This gathering has been a testament to our mission of promoting innovative and collaborative learning. The energy and insights displayed by the participants highlight the immense potential of combining knowledge exchange with real-world experiences.”

The 2024 edition of Samriddhi symposium themed, ‘Spectra: Redefining Business Landscapes,’ explored key sub themes such as evolving business landscapes, agile leadership, the future of work, profit with a purpose and decentralisation of the internet. Beyond competitions, Samriddhi 2024, offered a platform for learning through thought-provoking discussions and a practical workshop on financial decision-making that was conducted by CA Shivam Palan, founder of CA Monk, a Maharashtra-based upskilling platform designed to equip commerce and finance professionals.

Aradhika Mehta, founder and CSO at Brand Architects, who also spoke at the symposium, discussed how companies could leverage sustainability as a guiding principle to foster trust among stakeholders whilst achieving long term growth. She stated: “Sustainability isn’t just about profit or climate – it’s about balancing social, cultural and economic goals.”

Dr Biswapriya Bhattarjee, Director at Kantar, the world’s leading marketing data and analytics business, Dr Alok Tiwari, Associate Professor of Big Data Analysis at GIM, along with Dr Chandrasekhar, also shared their valuable insights during the panel discussion on ‘Changing Workplace Dynamics and Human-AI Collaboration’ on Day 2. Abhishek Chahan, Founder and CEO of Samvedanam, a boutique growth & investment banking firm, led the ‘fireside chat’ on ‘Agile Leadership in Changing Times’.
