~FLY91, Goa Tourism and IHCL come together to tap Indian regional markets to grow the coastal state’s tourist footfalls.
In a bid to expand its aviation footprint and enhance regional connectivity, Goa-based pure – play regional airline, FLY91, Goa Tourism and India’s iconic hospitality chain, the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) jointly organised a B2B roadshow in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district, to further broadbase Goa’s inbound domestic tourism market and attract travellers from the north Maharashtra region.
The roadshow has been organised at a time when FLY91, which operates from its home base, the Manohar International Airport (MIA) at Mopa, has recently commenced its new daily flight connecting Jalgaon to Goa.
“The roadshow saw the presence of local trade bodies, travel agencies, event planners and wedding planners from Jalgaon. We interacted with buyers from Jalgaon and networked with sellers and buyers. We anticipate a great deal of interest here vis-à-vis FLY91’s daily flight to Goa from Jalgaon,” said Ashutosh Chitnis, Chief Revenue Officer, FLY91.
“FLY91 is committed to promoting tourism in Goa through various initiatives that highlight Goa’s unique identity. This is why we have inked MoUs with Goa Tourism as well as the IHCL group, which offers 33 different accommodation products in the coastal state, in order to explore newer inbound domestic markets like Jalgaon,” Chitnis also said.
The Jalgaon roadshow offered a peek into the bouquet of offerings available in Goa as an ideal destination for leisure, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) and wedding tourism for Jalgaon residents. Invited local buyers had an opportunity to network and discuss potential business opportunities and tie-ups with officials representing FLY91, Goa Tourism and the IHCL Group.
The hospitality brands under the IHCL umbrella namely, Taj, SeleQtions, amã Stays & Trails, and Ginger hotels, will be at the forefront of curated hospitality experience, as part of the collaborative effort.
FLY91 recently signed an MoU with the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, committing to promote domestic and inbound tourism and sustainable tourism development in Goa. FLY91 will support hospitality businesses, while the Department of Tourism will promote the FLY91 brand at B2C conferences, travel exhibitions, and on Goa Tourism’s social media handles. This collaboration aims to enhance tourism initiatives and strengthen the state’s hospitality sector.
“By organising such roadshows, we aim to target regional centres in India for attracting potential tourist footfalls to Goa which is focused on sustainable and regenerative tourism. Our association with FLY91 and IHCL will strengthen this effort and offer a comprehensive understanding of the Goa market to tourism and travel industry stakeholders in Jalgaon,” said Gavin Dias, General Manager, Marketing, GTDC.
Supported by Goa Tourism, this collaboration blends IHCL’s superior hospitality with FLY91’s regional connectivity, creating unmatched travel experiences for visitors from regional centres.
“Through this roadshow, IHCL gets an opportunity to showcase Goa as a destination for leisure, MICE and wedding tourism, as well as familiarise IHCL’s hospitality products with industry stakeholders in Jalgaon,” Mausam Bhattacharjee, Commercial Director – Goa for IHCL said.
