Panaji, August 2023: Goa-based culinary students will now have an opportunity to intern and train at well-known hotels and restaurants in the United States of America, as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TransUSA Exchange, a leading international student exchange organisation and Kamaxi College of Culinary Arts.

As per the MoU between TransUSA Exchange and the Verna-based Kamaxi College of Culinary Arts, culinary students enrolled in the latter institute will be offered a comprehensive work-based training program with a range of benefits, including competitive hourly wages, visa assistance, medical insurance, on-duty meals and accommodation support.

The internship and training programme will enable students to work in empanelled hotels and fine-dine restaurants on a J1 visa for a duration of up to 12 months, which is extendable. Students will also have the opportunity to earn between $20-30 per hour, depending on their qualifications and the type of work they undertake. While students of KCCA will get priority access to the opportunities available, Kamaxi is committed to assisting any hospitality student seeking to benefit from this partnership.

“The objective of the MoU is to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their professional skills and expertise in the international market and gain an unparalleled learning experience,” explained Siddharth Savkur, CEO, Kamaxi Group. This internship/training programme is outlined to provide students with invaluable hands-on training in hotels and restaurants across the United States, empowering them to excel in their chosen fields while immersing themselves in a vibrant industry on American soil.

“We are excited to partner with Kamaxi College of Culinary Arts to offer this unique opportunity to international students,” said Monica Ferchi , Partner Development, TransUSA Exchange. “Our training programmes provide a platform for students to gain valuable experience in their chosen fields, while also immersing themselves in American culture. We look forward to working with Kamaxi College of Culinary Arts to provide a high-quality programme that meets the needs of international students.”
