The Sernabatim beach can be considered an extension of the Colva beach as one moves South toward Benaulim. Sernabatim is much cleaner (no jokes) and the waters are calm making it a good location for those who love to swim in the sea.
The sun setting into the Arabian Sea is a mesmerizing scene and is not to be missed. The beach is relatively isolated and does not attract many tourists. You will mostly find Goan families relaxing at this beach. You can relax here without much disturbance from crowds and vendors.
If your idea of a day at the beach is relaxing by the shore, listening to the waves and enjoying the breeze, then Sernabatim is where you should head to. You get the privacy you’ve desired at most beaches, here. It’s an ideal beach that you’ve always imagined.
A place to chill at Sernabatim that we’ve been to…
Furtado’s Beach House is a popular beach resort/hotel that is spread over a large area of Sernabatim. Every room has a good view, either sea facing or of the lush garden that is a part of Furtado’s. The in-house restaurant facing the beach provides a wide range of dishes from different cuisines to cater to the diverse palate of tourists that come here, being mostly Goan.
Why do people go to the Sernabatim beach?
The quiet of Sernabatim is what adds that little extra to watching the sunset from this beach. It is really beautiful, peaceful, clean and has all the basic requirements. People love taking a swim at this beach as the water is clean and there aren’t many tourists to bother you.
How to Get to Sernabatim?
Sernabatim is 1km away from Colva. We’d suggest you walk from there if you don’t mind 😉 But it is about an hour’s drive from Panjim, the capital city of Goa which is about 33.8 km. And of course, you have Google maps to help you out!
