Shri Nagesh at Bandora Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva, the destroyer on the list of Holy
Trinity in Hindu mythology. At the entrance, you are greeted by an enormous idol of Nandi the
bull in black granite.
While there’s an inscription in the mixture of the Devastan it certainly shows the antiquity of
the temple. Shivaratri is also observed with Rathotsava on Magha Amavasya (next day). The temple
has guesthouses or Agrashalas with well-equipped halls and rooms for wedding ceremonies as well
as for the accommodation of the pilgrims. The water tank in the temple or the Talai is well-
known in Goa because of its crystal clear water through the entire year.
