Don Bosco College, Panjim organised a lecture on Environmental Management by Adv. Shalini Sitaraman Menezes for First Year students pursuing BBA Travel & Tourism on February 10, 2025. In her talk, Adv. Shalini explained how mega companies like Tesla, IKEA, Starbucks, Apple and Adidas are minimising their impact on the environment through green initiatives.
She discussed crucial environmental issues like the looming threat of climate change, the need to reduce carbon emissions, the impact of deforestation, the alarming rate of biodiversity loss and the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Adv. Shalini also emphasised the need for safeguarding communities and prioritising water conservation.
The students left the lecture with a better understanding of environmental challenges and the urgency for implementing smart solutions.. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Harshil Naik and the presentation of a memento to the resource person by Crystal Fernandes.
