Remember those last couple of days in December, as the new year was coming around, you probably made a new year’s resolution to learn to swim. You didn’t think it through, but you figured you’ll find a way to make it work. Well, now couldn’t be a better time to strike that wish off your list. It’s summer, it’s hot, and it’s the perfect time to beat the heat, and get a lesson in. With tons of places across Goa that offer the use of their pool in exchange for a nominal fee, we’ve narrowed it down to the 5 best options with lessons.

Swimming lessons with Kelvin

Sodders Gloria Anne, Candolim

If you’re going to learn to swim, you may as well learn from the best. Kelvin Hatton, a PADI certified diver with close to a decade worth of experience is conducting classes for women and kids all of April. Priced at just 1500 per student (for basic instruction), you can avail of 10 sessions of an hour each. By the end of the month, you may not be as awesome as Kelvin, but you’d probably swim a lot better than before.

Peddem Swimming Pool, Mapusa

Similar to the Campal Swimming Pool, are the facilities offered at Peddem. The complex which was recently renovated on account of the Lusofonia Games a few years ago, boasts a massive Olympic sized pool, and multi-levelled diving boards. If you’re looking to learn, coaching classes are available at very reasonable rates. (We do need to mention that in the years since the Lusofonia Games, the pool has not been as well maintained as the others on this list. While it is still functional, it’s not in the best shape.)
