It is the month of August, the month we have all been longing and waiting for. We are not very far from ‘Book Lover’s Day’ – a day celebrated with great momentum and joy amongst all the lovely bibliophiles out there!!
As we near the arrival of this much anticipated and cherished day, we thought of throwing light on this rapidly evolving industry of e-books and e-magazines, which have slowly started taking shape in the new era of the media landscape. As part of our unravelling, we did a short round-up on some of its key top benefits over print magazines:
1. Ease of Access
I’m sure you would have witnessed frequent delays in receiving a copy of one of your favourite newspapers/magazines– either due to strikes, rallies, or heavy monsoon showers that lash during these months of the year. Thanks to digitization, you can finally say ta-ta bye-bye to all these struggles and enjoy reading a copy of your favourite ‘Herald’ or ‘The Navhind Times’ newspaper at the click of a button, while relaxing in your balcão and sipping your morning cup of tea – all at the click of a button.
2. Massive Reach Towards Vast Audiences
Have you ever wondered why a certain piece of content published online, gets viral in seconds? All of this has to do with the reach and digital magazines are certainly no exceptions!
Digital magazines can be easily shared across continents around the world. The arrival of instant messaging platforms from the likes of WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram has even made it easier to share content far and wide– thus contributing to the massive reach!
3. Better Measurement – Better Insights
Who would have imagined that media consumption could be analysed or measured? Well, that stands true for digital magazines….
Digital magazines or ‘e-magazines’ come equipped with highly effective tools that aid the publisher in measuring the number of unique visitors who have either viewed, followed, or even shared the publication – much like an actual Google Analytics dashboard used across different search engine marketing campaigns.
With all this data easily available at their disposal, publishers can make the necessary changes or adjustments to future editions of the magazine, to improve performance and fit in with the overall interests of their target audience!
4. Less Waste, More Cost Savings
Did you know that global warming is currently one of the serious environmental and climatic challenges facing our planet? Newspapers and magazines alone are contributing 80-90 % of the carbon emissions produced worldwide. Well, that is eye-opening!
Digital magazines can help reduce these threats whilst achieving massive cost savings.
Given these current challenges, digital magazines come in as a great alternative to mitigating the amount of waste generated by print magazines, the costs of recycling, and the fuel emissions – thus making the earth more sustainable and eco-friendlier!
5. The Bigger Picture
With most people spending about 90% of their time on smart devices, there is a great opportunity for businesses to adapt themselves, be future-ready, and satiate the current needs and aspirations of their clients. We certainly can’t afford to lose out in this race to capture the need of the moment! So let’s wake up, and do our part to save the planet by embracing digital magazines!!!
