Feeling homesick? Missing the scrumptious Goan fish curry rice and limbu soda? Missing Konkani songs and favourite Lorna hits too? Here is something to make you feel better. There are two online radio stations streaming Konkani songs 24 hours, 7 days a week and slowly turning into a sensation among Goans within the state and abroad.

These two stations claim that they are the “Hottest Online Konkani Radio Station,” by promoting Goan culture and language. But which one is better?

Radio Goa Website

Radio Goa, is the first contender and it is growing in popularity by the week. The website is also available as an app and can be downloaded online. The aim of the station is to promote regional and popular Konkani beats. Therefore it caters to all the homesick Goans who have relocated overseas. It promotes Konkani language and culture with the tailor made tagline ‘Feel Good Feel Goa.’ Radio Goa not only paves the way for rising Konkani musicians, but also popularises legendary Goan vocalists, like the famous Lorna Cordeiro.

Apart from lively Konkani beats, the station:

  • Updates Goans abroad with news of Goa, as well as live recordings of various events.
  • Has a range of entertainment shows which  include celebrity interviews, movie reviews and gossip.

According to its Facebook page, Radio Goa is supposed to be “Goa’s hottest” radio station. However, it is one of the two online radio stations promoting Goan music and culture.

Konkani Radio App

Apart from Radio Goa, Konkani Radio promoted by Golden Goa and developed by Third Eye Technologies is an app for all android users. Broadcasting from Porvorim, it is a Live online Konkani radio station. Just like its competitor- Radio Goa, this station also claims to be the “Hottest real-time radio station online.” Konkani Radio has eight radio channels, out of which four of them are dedicated to Konkani hits. The app got a stunning 4.5 star rating  on Google Play Store. Most of the users who have settled abroad have said that the station makes them feel right at home (like they are in Goa) and listen to this station wherever they go.

And the Champion is…
