The next generation of tennis players in the Open U12 Singles and Open U16 Singles took to the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias courts in Miramar with strong performances by the young athletes in Rounds 1, pre-quarterfinals and quarterfinals.
Parth Kadam bested Kaivalya Devaraya 7-5 (Round 1, Open U12 Boys Singles), Gargi Oak one-upped Neeraja Damle 6-0 (quarterfinals, Open U16 Girls Singles), and Ethan de Athaide trounced Vihaan Krishnan 6-3, Vedant Naik defeated Arnav Kulkarni 6-4 (quarterfinals, Open U16 Boys Singles).
In Round 1 of the Open U16 Boys Singles category, Kyan Mavany, Vedant Naik and Vivaan Agrawal defeated Dhrutak, Aymer Fernandes and Aarav Kumar respectively, with a score of 6-0, and Vidaal de Menezes trumped Cesar Costa 6-2. In the pre-quarterfinals of the same category, Kyan Mavany defeated Adianta Devaraya 6-0, Alec Barreto beat Devaansh Naik 6-2, Arnav Kulkarni vanquished Shaurya Verlekar 6-4.
In the pre-quarterfinals of the Open U16 Girls Singles Category, Ritisha Baradur trumped Bhaavya Bhoomkar 6-0, Urvi Pai Panandiker knocked Devyani Desai out of the running 6-1, Neeraja Damle and Avni Lotlikar beat Renee de Menezes and Ammiel Fernandes, respectively, 6-2.
In the Open Men’s Singles category, Sagar Kumar overcame Aryan Kotasthane 4-1, 4-3 (3) in the quarterfinals. The semi-finals in the same category saw Sreyas Prasad emerge victorious over Vishal 6-1, 6-4, making it to the final of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2025 for the first time.
Natasha Palha Soares and Sanika Kambli did not break a sweat in their two-set matches, each winning with a score of 4-0, 4-0 against Prapthi Shetty and Anupama, respectively, in the Open Ladies Singles category.
In the Open Mixed Doubles quarterfinals, Gargi Oak/Husen Shaikh beat Anupama/Shankar 6-3, Sanika Kambli/Shubham Shaw defeated Ayesha Sood/Eshaan Khadeer 6-3, Trisha Vinod/Maaz Khan trumped Aishwarya Nunes/Siddharth Nunes 6-0, Tanya Shelyazhynska-Caldeira/Santosh Gorawar made a spectacular comeback to defeat Nidhi Sequeira/Bharath Paul Singh 7-5, after being down 3-5.
