This eight-room property was converted from a 300-year-old warehouse and is located directly on the backwaters of the Mandovi River. The lush garden is particularly tranquil and the deck around the swimming pool is popular for morning coffee and sunset drinks. The large rooms are designed with an electric selection of colonial antique furniture from Goa and Cochin. Most have four-poster beds with much needed mosquito nets. I liked room 1 on the ground floor and room 3 on the first floor, but all six rooms in the main building are interesting, albeit a little tired. However, I visited in the monsoon and acknowledge the difficulty in maintaining a heritage property in the rains. I would avoid the two studio rooms in the garden, as they have no outlook. The rooms start at rs.3,500 in the low season and increase to Rs.7,000 in the high season.
