A Journey Shaped by Martial Arts and Inspiring Mentors
Erica’s journey in martial arts began in 2017 when her mother enrolled her in a summer camp at Don Bosco Panjim, driven by her concern for Erica’s safety. Little did they know that this decision would mark the start of an incredible martial arts career. Under the guidance of her exceptional coach, Master Raunak Singh, Erica found herself drawn to martial arts and captivated by its rich history. Master Singh’s knowledge, teaching style, and ability to describe the intricate workings of the human body and the fascinating stories of ancient warriors inspired Erica to pursue martial arts wholeheartedly.
A Path Paved with Achievements
Since her training commenced in 2017, Erica has achieved remarkable success in national and international competitions. Despite initially being the only girl in her age category, her coach’s words, “there are no genders in martial arts; we are all equal,” motivated her to embrace martial arts as a unifying art form. Erica’s first taste of national competition came in the 6th National Tong-il Moo-Do Championship in 2019, where she earned a well-deserved bronze medal in the women’s 33 kg category.
