Spanish winger Manuel Lanzarote has become Sergio Lobera’s sixth foreign recruit after signing with the FC Goa for the upcoming season of the Hero Indian Super League. The Goan football club confirmed the signing today. Lanzarote was earlier playing for Real Zaragoza in the second division of Spain.
The Spanish winger has to his credit over 35 goals in the top two divisions of Spanish football. He is known to operate from the right wing but is also comfortable playing on the wide left and central attacking midfield position.
Considered to be a product La Masia, Lanzarote has played for Spanish clubs such as Zaragoza, Espanyol, Deportivo Alaves and Eibar. This will be the second time he will play outside of Spain, the first time was when he was a part of the Europa League campaign of Asteras Tripolis in Greece.
During the previous season with Zaragoza, Lanzarote scored six goals and assisted eight goals. FC Goa will be hopeful that he reproduces his form for the upcoming ISL season.
The Gaur’s now have a total of six foreign players with them after signing Lanzarote. Others being Bruno Pinheiro, Ahmed Jahouh, Ferran Corominas, Manuel Arana and Sergio Juste.
