Goa-Tirupati to meet the demands of Vailankanni Pilgrims

Goan Pilgrims travelling to Vailankanni will soon have their long pending demands met. With the launch of the weekly train from Goa to Tirupati after September 15.

A video surveillance system for 17 stations at Margao  was inaugurated. Also laying of foundation stone for Rail Over-Bridge (ROB) at Davorlim. The Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu announced.

After taking cognizance of complaints of a “steep hike” in fare of the Goa-Vailankanni train, next year, pilgrims will witness more Vailankanni-bound trains at affordable rates. This was stated by the Union Railway Minister after taking cognisance of the situation.

Prabhu also mentioned that the work of double tracking of the railway route of the South Western Railway (SWR) in the Goa sector will commence within the next few weeks. Once the project is completed, it will extend huge benefits to the locals by way of employment and conveniences. Prabhu also said that the project would facilitate widening the railway network through Goa.
