Don’t be deceived by its simple exteriors and ambience. Joel’s Shack on the pristine Betalbatim beach, a little north of the crowded Colva beach, serves some of the best seafood around . And they only serve the big fish like lobsters, kingfish, seabass, the prawns, red snapper, etc. Their forte is the European-style seafood done in a variety of wine sauces and grilled or baked. We recommend you to try their baked red snapper or pomfret, served with asparagus for a divine eating experience right on the beach. The fish served is also freshest you can get, and to enliven the proceedings, you can try one of their in-house cocktails like the Bull Dog – which is a combination of dark rum and white rum.
They also serve some good pastas and salads, which are also way above average in taste.
It’s a great place to spend a long day on the beach and you can lounge around on a beach bed with your drink and food. What’s more, this is one of the quietest beach stretches in Goa. They also have a very limited menu of Indian, Goan and Chinese dishes, but they also specialize in European dishes.
