Lounguinho’s is something of an institution in Margao and has been around for nearly half a century, serving home-style Goan food. For breakfast, you can have Fried Eggs and Choris pao, the spicy Goan sausage sandwich done to perfection here. Also try the Prawn Patties, Beef Patties, cutlets and croquettes. Their excellent soups, both Goan style and Chinese, are also popular in between meals. But their Goan main course dishes are amongst the best you’ll get in Margao. Try the Sorpotel, the spicy, rich red pork gravy with chopped pieces, which is a Goan festive speciality. Or the Mussels in butter garlic sauce, the white shell-fish only so delicately flavoured with the taste of garlic and butter, if you want to nibble something while having drink. They also serve a Sausage Pulao, which however can be a bit too greasy at times because they fry the rice these days.
