Mumbai-based Shrikant and Amit Tambe came up trumps in the finals of the Masters 120+ men’s doubles event, defeating Sushil and Yati Gujarathi 6-0, 6-2, at the ongoing Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2025 which is being held at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias courts in Miramar.
On his way to winning the Masters men’s singles 60+ title, Manoj Chandiramani first defeated Vijay Kamat 6-2, 6-4 before he outclassed Randeep Datta 6-4, 6-2 to win the final match of the category.
Ramesh RN blanked out Jude Cardozo 6-0, 6-0 in the finals of the Masters Singles 55+ event, while Tanya Caldeira and Arul A combined to defeat Milica Rakovic and Mladen Petrovic 6-3, 6-4 in the Masters 35+ mixed doubles final. Mano Chhabra and Bulu were put through a gruelling ordeal by Mandar Wakankar and Rajesh Dave and the match was stretched to a 3rd set super tiebreaker, before the former pair won the final of the Masters men’s doubles 90+ event 5-7, 7-5, 10-8 (3rd set super tiebreaker).
Playing in the finals of the Masters men’s doubles 110+ event, Yati Gujarathi and Shirish Nandurdikar defeated Ashutosh Pednekar and Rajesh D’Souza 6-4, 6-3, while Amit Tambe won the finals of the Men’s singles 45+ event, after his opponent Mandar Wakankar retired 5-7, 5-3.
With the culmination of the finals in the Masters category, the tournament’s much awaited Open category matches got underway at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias court in Miramar, with a series of men’s singles matches, in which Vijay Venkateswaran defeated Kane Pereira 6-2, 10-year-old Devaansh Naik defeated Shreyas Chougale 7-5, after staging a stunning comeback from 2-5. Lyndon Pinto defeated Udayan Anand 6-4, while Pranav Suvarna edged Saurabh Khanna 7-5 and Sagar Kumar beat Arjun DH 6-1.
