If there’s one thing Goans at home and abroad can’t live without, it’s music. We all have those uncles who will regale you with stories about how they ‘built’ their home theatre systems at home with amps and speakers brought back with them from the Gulf or other foreign countries. They will also tell you about how their home audio system was the biggest and best in the village. Owning your own audio system was, and in many cases still is, a matter of pride for the amateur and professional audiophile – even in the face of advanced, portable wireless speakers. Given the importance and relevance of music in the home and professional spaces, Ryan Mathias of AVL Pro Global has taken it upon himself to organise Goa’s largest professional audio and musical instruments expo, currently in its third year.
Connect, Play, Experience
The Pro Audio and Music Expo Goa is the largest gathering of bands, DJs, event industry professionals, recording labels, hoteliers, club owners, and more. The expo focuses on three major themes, connect, play, and experience. Mathias (music producer/sound engineer/songwriter) who runs the event completely out of pocket feels that “there is a lot of scope for the music experience to get better at home and at events”. In order to bring people together, the Pro Audio and Music Expo will feature demonstrations from major audio equipment manufacturers, as well as live music performances by some of Goa’s foremost musicians and DJs
The best brands in the industry
This is currently the third year running for the Pro Audio and Music Expo, and the schedule of events is rather extensive. This year, the event will see participation from brands such as Denon Dj, Roland, Sennheiser, Stonewater Audio, Midas, Boss, Katana, Krk, Db Technologies, Samson, Alto Professional, JBL, Soundcraft, Crown, Turbosound, Behringer, and more. A special flea market will be set up to sell and buy used instruments and equipment, and special offers will be made available across all brands present. For today only, AVL Pro Global will be offering exclusive deals up to 70% off across a variety of products. Being an authorised service centre for all the participating companies, technicians will be available on site to help with product advice and issues.
One for all and all for one
The Pro Audio and Music Expo is free for all and open to the public. Starting at 2pm, the event at Garcia de Orta Garden in Panjim will feature performances by Black in White, The Coffee Cats, Elvis Lobo and friends, Anika, Joaquim and more plus open jams where participants can win prizes from Sennheiser. Guests will also get a chance to experience India’s exclusive Vinyl ambulance by Dj Iggi. Easy finance options are being provided by HDFC, and the event is being supported by Chocolate Entertainment, Bullseye Entertainment, Audio Kris, and Sebco AV.
