A few weeks ago, we reported that the Kadamba Transport Corporation had reinstated its Airport Shuttle service at an extremely economical rate of 100 and 150 Rupees to Panjim and Calangute respectively. Since then, there have been a lot of requests in the comments for service to the South as well since the majority of the luxury hotels are located in areas such as Cavelossim and Varca. Well, it looks like the KTC and the Government of Goa have an answer.

A much-needed service

In a statement made to the Times of India, a KTC official has stated that after the Lok Sabha elections, an airport shuttle service between the Dabolim Airport and Mobor is likely to commence. Due to the heavy concentration of 4 and 5-star hotels in the area, the bus will commute via Cavelossim and Varca. In his statement, the official said “The route has wide roads, which are good for operating KTC’s Volvo buses. There is a lot of demand for the service in Cavelossim. In Mobor, the bus may go up to the Leela Goa beach resort.”

A luxury ride at a fraction of the cost

This is great news for tourists, frequent, and budget travellers who are looking to travel down south after landing at the Dabolim Airport but are reluctant to pay the ridiculously high taxi fares. “Passengers have written us emails requesting for this service,” said the KTC official, “The taxi prices are exorbitant to travel from these places to the airport. The service will come as a welcome relief for tourists.” Given the reasonable rates that are currently in effect for the airport shuttle service to Panjim and Calangute, we can expect a similar rate card for the 40-45 seater air-conditioned Volvos. More routes will be added soon as demand increases, however, all of this will come into effect after the elections are held.
