The prodigal Sunburn returns to Goa this February 2019

Like an angry young teenager that storms out of the house, vowing to never return, it was only a matter of time before the folks at Sunburn decided that it was time they resolved their issues with the Goa Government, and give the people what they want. The EDM festival that revolutionized dance music in India, is making its epic return to the place where it all began, Vagator Goa, over the weekend of February 23 and 24. After years of moving around (intrastate to Candolim, and interstate to Pune, Maharashtra), Percept, the brains behind the Sunburn brand, has teamed up with local logistics company Klassique, to form Sunburn Klassique. It’s a minor brand change for a festival that promises to be everything that it is known for, ever since its inception in 2007.

New name, old venue

The new festival will be taking up residence in its very first venue, the Vagator hills, which is sure to bring back a lot of memories for ardent EDM fans, who have witnessed a number of live music events in the area. Sure, Sunburn is the festival that started it all, and Percept plans to bring back those memories. Karan Singh, CEO, Sunburn said, “Sunburn introduced the concept of dance music to India and has aided in building music tourism across India. Over the last 12 years we’ve evolved from being just a music festival to an aspirational brand with millions of loyalists. We hope our return to Goa is truly memorable and magical and we can once again build Goa into a thriving music destination. As a practice, we will deliver the most intrinsic and enhanced fan experience without compromising on our production and experiential ethics. A massive festival like Sunburn is built on foresight and passion and we’re going in all guns blazing to make an even bigger mark in 2019.”
