Water Resource Department Minister Vinod Palyekar paid a surprise visit to the Porvorim WRD office on Tuesday. On his visit the minister found some of the staffers napping and some were absent without prior notice or permission.
“We have visited and seen many irregularities going on, I have directed the executive engineer to issue them memos and issue them showcause notices if next time found any irregularities I have told them to suspend (the staffers) ” said Vinod Palyekar speaking to the media later as reported by Prudent.
Later, the WRD minister uploaded a photograph on a social media platform of the memo issued to those staffers that were found to be absent without prior permission or notice.
Speaking to RDX Goa on the previous day Palyekar had said that in case anyone is attempting to extract a bribe in his name then it should be immediately brought to his notice. The minister also recalled that during his campaign he had promised his constituents that he will never indulge in corruption and will always work for the betterment of his constituents.
