The Inter-College Basketball Tournament, organized by the Goa University Sports Section, was held from August 19 to 22, 2025, at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim. This exciting event saw the participation of 17 men’s teams and 13 women’s teams from various colleges across Goa, all vying for the top spot in their respective categories.
In the men’s section, our college team started strong, securing a win in their first match against Kare College of law, Margao. However, their winning streak was halted in the second match, where they narrowly lost to Goa Engineering College by a single point, with the score being 15-16. Despite the tough competition, our team’s performance showcased their skills and determination on the court.
The women’s section witnessed an outstanding display of talent and teamwork from our college team. They kicked off the tournament with a convincing win against Fr. Agnel College, Pilar, in their first match. Their journey continued with a thrilling victory over Dhempe College in the semi-finals, which secured their spot in the finals. In the final showdown, our team demonstrated exceptional prowess, triumphing over St. Xavier’s College with an impressive score of 47-22. This dominating performance earned them the title of champions in the women’s category.
One of our team’s star players, Sarah Hussain, was recognized for her outstanding contributions throughout the tournament. She was awarded the Player of the Tournament in the female category, a testament to her hard work, skill, and dedication to the sport.
