Goa police will receive help from Maharashtra and Delhi police in the upcoming BRICS summit to be held in October in the state. The help will be in terms of man power and equipment. Goa Police has already shared information with the Union Home Ministry and other states helping with the security arrangements during the event.

“The preparations for the summit are going on in full swing. We have already analysed how much resources are with us and how much additional manpower and gadgets are required,” Deputy Inspector General of Police Vimal Kumar Gupta said in a Business Standard report.

DIG Vimal Kumar Gupta had revealed the help is sought due to lack of time to train Goa Police for the event. “Delhi and Maharashtra police have assured to provide their trained manpower and equipment during the event,” Gupta added in the same report.

BRICS summit will be attended by leaders of countries such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
